Hi Ummet, How are you?

I am well! Thanks for asking.

Your new single  ‘What You’re Waiting For’ is out now, a collaboration with Tiesto,  What’s the story of the song?

I ran into Tiesto at Miami’s Musicweek and we thought it would be a nice idea to do a record together. We’ve send some demos back and forth and ‘What You’re Waiting For’ was the best one. It was really cool to work on this track together.

How did you decide to become a DJ?

I started producing music when I was 14 and at some point I felt that Dj-ing was a natural next step. I wanted to play my own music, so I decided to become a DJ.

What’s the most important thing for you while you working on a new stuff?

In my studio I need to be focused, so I try to schedule everything the right way. It takes an amount of time to come up with something new and it is important that I can work on some project without being distracted.

If you had the chance to collaborate with an artist Who would that be?

I need to think hard about that one. Got a few on my list though..

What was the funniest thing that ever happened on stage?

I was playing Tomorrow World 2015 and suddenly a guy stepped on stage, pushed me away from the decks to take over.. Before I realized what happened a few security guys knocked him down and took him a way.  It was a very weird experience.

You’re touring alot, What are you doing in your free time?

I like nature a lot. Just have a nice long walk in the forest can clear your mind. Also working out in the gym helps me to stay fit.

Where see you yourself in 10 years?

Definitely still making music! I’ll maybe working on some cool movie project.

What’s the upcoming projects?

Got a few very nice collabs coming up, but the are still secret And ofcourse a few new Ummet Ozcan tracks.
