Gloria Prince: Dance is another way to express a story that is being told.
Hi Gloria! How would you best describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as soothing, fresh and edgy.
How did you find your voice as a singer and what made you want to make it your career?
I found my voice by discovering my love for RNB and gravitating to artist like Stacie orrico, brandy, JoJo and destiny’s child. I would practice in my room non-stop and possibly was the most annoying little sister in America!
What is your new single ‘’All To Me’’ all about?
All to me is about a girl who finally found her match. She is letting her guard down and wants to get a little sexy for the new man in her life. It was such a fun record to make and I hope it makes all my ladies find their inner sexiness.
You have some great choreography in your new video for ‘All To Me’ what does dance mean to you?
Thank you! Dance is another way to express a story that is being told. As an artist, it’s always important to relay a message and dance to me means expressing everything that is in my heart and leaving the audience speechless.
Are there any artists that have inspired you?
There have been quite a few that inspired me to take on this musical journey .To name a few, Chris brown, Janet Jackson, TLC, Aaliyah, and B2k.
What do you think is currently missing from R&B?
I believe what’s missing in RNB is being able to say that “this is a classic.” It’s very rare you hear someone say this is a timeless song or album.
You have done some amazing charity work in Uganda what motivates you to give back and what great things have you seen?
Thank you! What motivates me to give back is being in a similar position as some of the kids I work with. I know how it’s feels to not know where the next meal is gonna come from, seeing mama struggle or even worrying about roaches crawling on you at night. I know the feeling when you’re just praying for someone to relieve you of your pain and suffering. If I can be that for someone else then I will take that opportunity over anything. Since working with the children of Uganda, I’ve been able to help sponsor a child to go to school and also mentor a child into completing a certificate in electrical engineering!
